  1. I've got this movie on dvd and it's the best show about helicopters I've ever seen   it's the "normal" job of a lot of guys on this forum but for a low timer like me it's amazing. No BS, just superb helicopters in action. on a big screen
  2.  What about writing a nice letter to all operators and Oil & Gas, forestry etc... companies ? Shortage of pilots, price of oil, unemployed low timers, low salary etc... lots of good reasons to open some eyes nan ? and maybe the end of the tunnel for some guys
  3. What you guys (CP, Managers...) are interresting in seeing in a low timer ? I'm a genious with computer , instructor first aid, low quality photographer, hardcore tourist guide and can even can be bodyguard...but with no luck for now  So is there some skills you'd like to see in a low timer that will compensate is lack of hours? I'd really like to know how to "help" a small to medium company without flying. bye
  4. 5 years and 2 1/2 years in prison  that's serious !!! Should do this in Ukraine : a lot of places for low timers, but they will have to build new prisons
  5. Didn't check the new price for Chinook  but last time I did it was the cheapest...too bad. But as I said : Go for the cheapest ! (as long as it's not a R22 ) Even if I like the 47, 10$ is 10 $ and you will need them A good question too : which piston engine is closer to the 206 ? Each school swear it's its, but what "independents" instructors though about this ?
  6. have a look at Chinook too : great team of instructors and if you stay after working hours you'll learn a lot of usefull thing about this little word. But the best thing about Chinook : they're cheap, and you'll need the money for your road trip, and the next road trip, and the next... Forget about additional training, even a turbine qualification will not give you a job. Save the money to see as many operator as you can. and leave BC for ever : I was there first and I'd hate shooting another low timer
  7. edited =wrong topic= and now, back to KO Corall
  8. Beware of free sisters... if you want a picture, I'll need a wide-angle lens...
  9. True for the little 4.2 Mpix difference between canon and NIKON, but the most important is lenses...and I'm afraid Canon is still spying Tamron for its ( OK maybe not for the 500/F4) Nikon Power !!
  10. for now, I'll give my sister to spend 12 h under this !! lol
  11. Hey around five this afternoon, the most beautiful civilian bird land in PG on its way to US. Wasn't fast enough to shoot the landing but tomorrow I'll spend the days there for the take-off. Pics are not really good : I was outside the airport as I forget the access code more pictures here : http://helipilot.free.fr/nikonpower/thumbnails.php?album=6
  12. the important thing is : if you want good pictures, go NIKON !! Nikon Power !!!
  13. What I never understood about the K-Max is how it's possible that's the angle between the "two" rotors is not constant is it an effect of the yaw control ? Any way to know where the K-Max are working right now ? last time I phone for this I had a strange reaction from the receiptionist
  14. What about flying with the light on ? Normally the "A/F fuel filter" will come first. As the light tells you that the fuel filter is about to be bypassed (from data product) or that the fuel filter is clogged(from FM), how long can you flight (2mn to the next landing spot, 1h to your base...etc) ? Is it part of each company procedures manuel ? On SA313, the procedure is : reduce power, the light will be off, continue the flight. Reduce power to keep the light off. Can you do the same on Bell 206 or when the light is on, it's on untill an AME check the filter ? That's all for today
