  1. Sydney terminal controller calling: “unifentified AC” in his airspace without clearance “Identity yourself”....repeatedly.... Unifentified AC reply: “I might be a bad pilot.... but I’m not stupid.....” ........silence................
  2. 214 limit is supposedly because of engine failure, if you were say... climbing at 5000-6000FPM and had a power failure momentum would continue to carry you upwards for long enough that the RRPM would decay below a critical point before actual autorotation was established.
  3. Looks like something strapped to the aft facing seat in this shot? How dare they!
  4. Same sort of sentiment in Aus it seems? Maybe when you become a heicopter pilot your passport should be taken away? http://www.bladeslapper.com/content/bb/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=8971&p=63364&sid=8d4df8184377edbce32a18bcf2861c39
  5. From what I remember we used to log only air time in Canada? Next country I went to "PNG" everybody logged flight time, on the ground out of the machine "engine running" a logging away! I did think it was a bit shamefull! Next country same thing! In an offshore role, and sometimes both pilots logged PIC flight time! Quite shamefull I thought especially when one guy would get out for a pee and be gone 20"! Now in AUS and logging flight time is the norm. Two pilot offshore heavy with 1.5 hr legs and logging 2.0 because of start up and shutdown. So think of it this way: Pilot 3000hrs experience - 25% (Ground running time ie: startup, shutdown )= 2250 (and that's generous) -co pilot time/NFP Time = 50% (quite likely) =1125hr - initial training, dual training, SIM time 100hr(initial) =1025 If you are only logging AIR TIME you are cutting yourself short on the world stage! Other than Canada, logging of flight time seems to be the norm? The good old days of just logging what you put in the tech log are gone. The one advantage we have in Canada is that there still are jobs out there that we can do 1000hrs a year the old fashioned way logging air time! Good luck finding that in most other countries unless your chasing cows in outback AUS and logging only airtime which is actually only 50% what you really flew!
  6. Oops! My last post was ment for a tottally different thread! Sorry for the confusion, I was wondering where that post went!

  8. I don't think there is such a thing as 100 hr (air time) commercial corse? I know when I did mine 16 years ago it was 100.00 hrs and it was defiantly not skids up skids down, there was lots of time on he ground between autos or whatever exercise just briefing. I would hazard a guess that I actually only did 85-90 hrs. Should be lots of instructors on here that can fill us in on how it is being done now a days??
  9. As a pilot all you need is a job with good machines, good roster and good pay? If you company can afford to sell a B2 at rock bottom prices, wouldn't that be a good place to work? Assuming they pay an hourly you would think the client would fly the s#%t out of that thing, in turn making the pilot lots of $$ Does seem strange a B2 going out for 500 rates though? Especially this time of year?
  10. Come on sling get off it! wrong time and place for BS jokes. Learn english and get with it dude. you cant seriously think ( in french or english ) that that was funny? You are single handedly screwing all low time french canadian drivers out of a job this year, good work. This forum is not a joke! the whole canadian industry watches this forum and I bet everyone will think twice about hiring a young french canadian pilot this season thanks to you.
  11. Congratulations Sling, Hope you have fun up there, If weight is not a problem take some of Mobil Jet III
  12. Nice job Happy! hopefully the Aussie guys don't read this thread. Tanks a lot. likely they will think I am you ( I'm sure they don't get many canadian CV's) and withdraw their offer. and how would that be pro Canadian ? You are a meat head
  13. Im Canadian working in the UAE as well, Thinking of moving down under to avoid winter so sent out two CV's. Heard back from both companies, now to decide not that hard after all.
  14. Its a bummer about the slowdown over there, All you can do guys really, work your way into a management job, CP or GM and once you are there not hire anybody other than Canadians, Problem solved. Or better yet go to their country and work for peanuts, root their women and....., Oh never mind they have laws to protect their national workers down there, you will never get in.
