  1. How unsurprising although sad, as of a couple of decades ago ranked as one of the highest in the world, one wonders how it all went so wrong?
  2. Bowman, there is my "I learned something today" appreciate the share. OTR
  3. A big shout out to the "drivers" and the "wrenches" out there participating in 2023 wildfire season and pounding on it. The Kelowna area is especially sensitive as I live here and have plenty of family and friends that are on the edge of their seats. Some challenging conditions with visibility etc., appreciate what you guys and gals that are doing. Seems strange being on the watching side as opposed to the doing side. Play safe out there and keep up the good work. Thanks again
  4. Not the first time I have heard of this happening - a number of years ago on another fire in Canada and a second overseas on a seismic job. Interestingly enough there was little or no damage to the M/R system of either of the aircraft making contact with the long line. Assuming the 412 was not damaged as apparently he was not aware of the contact. Glad everyone OK, except for maybe some "poopie pants", way to close for comfort. 😵
  5. Well just ordered both of them from Amazon - these guys sound familiar? Maybe one of us 🙃🤣. Hope you are doing well with this venture. Looking forward to the read.
  6. Wear Able Devices - like house arrest - not a freakin hope in .... the hot place!
  7. Right on, would it be proper to name the company? That is an awesome moral booster while in the field. Have a safe summer out there.
  8. Sincere condolences to the the families and friends of the deceased and to industry brothers and sisters involved. RIP.
  9. It was brought to my attention that an operator here in Canada has found a great and unique way of recycling their Survival Kit Contents. The contents that are being replaced - still good and very usable - are being donated to the Ukrainian Church in their area and being gratefully accepted and will be shipped over to the Ukraine. So if you are going thru your survival kits and looking to refresh them this maybe a great way to help keep them out of the garbage and headed in a direction where they can be utilized by humans that are having a tough time of it right now.
  10. R.I.P Ed and condolences to the family. He certainly had a good run of it in the rotary world here in Canada. Did seismic along side him, always a gentleman.
  11. Nice shout out to Fred and Brad at Valley Heli. - well done, but not surprising.
  12. Geez, Don did not even realize you were in country when the last case was "found" - and what about those outside of the Ottawa region that were involved in that adventure?
