Its the age old problem. Everyone wants Cat A performance, but nobody wants to pay for it. For years the Oil companies have been saying 3 more years they won't use 212's. They are still using them. They also came up with the ridiculous rule no aircraft over 10 years old on long term contracts. I know for a fact 1 company signed a 5 year contract with an aircraft that was 9.5 years old at the time of award. It was approved as it was not 10 years old prior to the award. In fact i believe they are in negotiations to renew for 3 more years with the same machine.
