lamanated replied to Saifan Pilot's topic in General Helicopter Operations
the barrel hook memo came out a few yrs ago as mentioned above,, RE lifters. it helps to make the contact surfaces rough ie with skate board or stair tread tape on it. cause went or cold barrels are slippery. -

and remember for slinging barrels,, Crosby barrel hooks are not approved for heli use. -
American Airman as well. with people getting out of the industry doors might open. I know of someone that moved on, Local generating plant paying $45 an hr and full benefits for instrument techs or Turbine back engine techs is hard to beat.

Astar folding of blades for storage saddle
lamanated posted a topic in General Helicopter Operations
wondering of anyone has a pattern or pics for a saddle to hold blades to store an Astar in a narrow hangar.. Saw a few out west.. Thanks -
I thought they did and Canadians cant apply for the out of country jobs with a TC rating, they only wanted the Faa , Turbomeca gave up both when we asked.
-
remember as well their courses are only recognized in Canada , so dont look for international work. They would do well to add FAA approval..

the store bought laquer thinners are mostly MEK as well.

remember, rule 2 , The minister may make exemptions...we've seen repairs and extensions granted to companies that made us go Huh?? how'd they do that. and even dual inspections by the cook are allowed. one thing on Astars too,, Make sure you have those changed every time nuts entered in the book and in inventory or taken out of, as Transport look for it I'm told, especially after an incident.

as one of those who had cancer in their early 40's anyone exposed to it should be aware of the risks , No different than MEK, talk to guys who have poisoning from it and had to have a bag put on them that its no biggie.. Till your laying in a bed counting the days.. -
and also if your looking at courses and want to work international, Make sure the course has an Faa credentials. Northern Lights etc courses are Canada only.
