  6. Yes I've herd about people that have done a cross Atlantic flight from the East cost of Canada to Greenland to Iceland to Ireland, in a Single Engine A/C. Has any one herd of this? Is it possible to do? If so how and what sort of A/C do you need to do such an assume adventure..... Oh and a merry XMASS to all DWR

  9. Yes i just read my local newspaper and it tell me that having an illigal satilate ( doesn't say what one to be exact DSS or Bell express view) can have false distress on the 121.5 feq. How is this possible???? can anyone please elablorate! shouldn't aviation have there own freq's and how can the FAA and TC allow this to happen.

  12. yes i'm looking to do my ifr but not till like 1-2 years from now as i have little hours. just wondering what books are good to get to stufy from till then so i can really understand the ifr stuff before i go to the school of my choice :up:

  15. yes have a question that i need help with for school.... it goes like so? 1.With a CRFI report of .21 in -35, what is the max. headwind and crosswing compenents? That is the question if you can answer it please explain how you get the winds with out the winds in the question as i see in the aip in air 1-14 it the chart for this but they give the wind at tower for you... but my question no winds???? :shock:

  18. Yes need some instructors or other pilot to comment on this poll. Return from stright and level flight from power off decent. what is the recover procedures..
  19. for float its 5 take off and landing solo occupent. I did my traing at airhart in kelowna, it was 25 hours dual then 25 hours solo. I think its a must to go solo as if you have your instructor on board, if you do something wrong you will make sure he will correct you. so if you go solo yes you can make an error but sometimes it the only way to learn and to get profeciant without a instructor aboard. as you will have to concentrate more solo. trus me you learn alot solo. and you even scare the shi## out of yourself, but damm it fun. call up airhart and ask for there your concerns. :up: have fun and keep the floats right side up.
  20. The reason you go solo to get you float rating is that. 1. Multi engine you require a flight test (same a private) 2. IFR you require a flight test (same a private) so to sum up a float rating doesn't have a flight test attached to it. if the instructor thinks you are ready to go you go and get it just like a night rating.... same idea :up: :shock:
  21. ya the best plce to go is Air Hart.. i did the course there and it was a blast. plus i did my CPL there to. they have a 172 hawk XP, and a 180. and they are right in kelown best place to go for traing as they have lost of lake right by and high alt. training to.... www.air-hart.com

I''m hering from my dad and my friends dad also saw this, that the airforce isn''t getting the pilots that they need? why is this? are there standards way too high that no one can pass there fligh test??? very weird when i think 120 spots were open but only 20 applied ( this is what i heard so don''t quote me wrong)... any resonse to this
