  1. "I did just over 20 hours in the southern Rockies in a jet box. It was the most humbling thing I have ever done. I laugh at the 5 hour hac course. I also feel if you have 1000 hours in the rocks you are still far, far from a experienced mountain pilot and potentialy a even bigger hazard because you may be over confident and think your a mountain pilot.. Now, years later I have flown on oxygen in the Andes in Chile and Peru, was base pilot on the continental divide.. I can tell you I still do not feel remotely as experienced as I would like think I am. I still am very humble flying in the rocks, and all I have really learned, is to maintain huge respect for the rocks. There are a lot of pilots that fly in the mountains but few I would call mountain pilots, I am still trying to become a “mountain pilot” " sirlandsalot - with that attitude I would say you can call yourself a Mountain Pilot - well said.
  2. To Simpleton and Tough Times: I am not "shilling my wares", however it is in response to AMPM first's post asking for availability of help. Mr. Green actually does not participate on this forum. It is a solution to those operators whom are going to have trouble fulfilling to get this mandate from TC completed and implemented by Jan. 31/19. Trying to be pro-active and help out the industry, if operators do not have it completed and all their active crews trained they will be in violation. Long story short download a copy of AC 700-042, read completely and look at the complexity, just trying to help that's all. Have a great holiday season and stay safe out there. Respectfully.
  3. In light of the current 702 & 703 TC regulations looming, thought you might be interested in a viable solution for your operations to be in compliance by the January 31, 2019 deadline. I realize this is going to be a daunting task for many, many operators and feel this is an option you might want to investigate. QualaTech Aero Consulting Ltd., has been diligently working on a template where 90 to 95% of the material has been gathered and addressed to fit the TC format for submission, COM amendment etc., the 5 to 10% inputs on your behalf will help you to take ownership of the document and be able to interface with TC on a knowledge basis. Keith at QualaTech produces quality material. Contact Keith: QualaTech Aero Consulting Ltd. – 250-213-5025 – [email protected] – for availability and pricing. Hope this is of help with your company compliance status. Good Luck and all the best for 2019

  5. Darcy, Congratulations on your endeavors, just ordered my paperback online this AM and looking forward to the read. All the best to you as an author. OTR.
  6. As always a gentlemanly reply Coastdog. We are all on a continual learning curve and hopefully "note writer" will be able to sit back and reflect and move forward with more decorum when his next opportunity arises as it surely will. Warm Regards,
  7. Very cool you and Bently keep the fun meter pegged hard over to the right. Life is about the journey.
  8. You might want to try HTS - Helicopter Transport Services in Canada or Construction Helicopters in the USA both of whom have recently operated S58T's in recent history and they may be so kind as to share with you. Good Luck.
  9. Started in Campbell River by Nick S. and Terry La. ran for a maybe 6 - 7 months and disappeared. It was a nice bird.
  10. As another year of international strife is earmarked, may all you peace keepers stay safe, and know you are appreciated. The families at home are too in thought. Bryan Adams just did a great tribute to our Canadian Veterans with a song sung by soldier's wives, of the Princess Pats. Great job.
  11. Glad to hear precaution and safety check was the winner. Much better story than the heli-ski accident at Last Frontier last week.
  12. Really "understood" is what I meant - 2 beanie buildings taking place, I certainly apologize for raising any ire - not what was intended head been drawn back in shell.
