  1. I am using Air Nav Pro on an iPad and waiting for ForeFlight. They have a good detailed 3D kind of map with air related information overlaid If you touch an airport control zone a window pops up with airspace frequencies and landing lengths Same sort of things with other air related waypoints and beacons. It does fight lines and slug tracks your route And it was cheap For close in work or area searches or contour crawls, it is hard to beat Topo Maps at the istore. I think it was about 9 bucks and all Topo maps are free right down to the 1:2500? All over Canada My biggest gripe with the iPad is that it can not be seen in portrait mode with polarized glasses, I know, TC does not like them but my eyes do.
  2. Thanks Phil, I await your safe return.
  3. "Any one, Any one, Bueller, Bueller " comes from the movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and is defined by the "urban Dictonary" as a filler when nobody responds to a question. It has no negative connotations. That is where and the why is, I was hoping someone who knew the person and might have any information, might put it forth. My vested interest is two fold. One he is a helicopter pilot and he is missing. I hope that that alone should be enough for all of us to help were we can. Second, I am led to believe that the pilot ( although I have no confirmation he is the same guy that used to fly a slick eurocopter ) saved me from a posable bad landing on my very early solo cross country. He spoke up, when no one else listening did. I found him shortly after to thank him and he said " we were are new at this at one time" I asked around and found a eye witness to his take off from Langley. I spent 6.5 hours searching on my own time and money were I thought he might be. You questioned my motives and respectfulness, I have answer. He is a question for you. Respectfully, What did you do to help?
  4. Sudden stop I am a bit insulted by your comments but now is not the time for a reply. I will reply fully in a day or two. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.
  5. Taken from BC Bid http://www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca/open.dll/welcome Which is a little ironic as there is no bid. NOTICE OF INTENT TO MODIFY CONTRACT ISSUED September 14, 2011 SOLICITATION # NOI-EHSCAIRKAM091411 1.0 Notice Notice is hereby given by the Emergency and Health Services Commission (EHSC), operating British Columbia Ambulance Service (BCAS), of its intent to modify an existing contract with CC Helicopters (2011) Ltd. (the Contractor) for the provision of dedicated rotary wing air ambulance services based in Kamloops until March 31, 2012. 2.0 Services The Contractor currently provides rotary wing air ambulance services from their base in Kamloops on an as, if and when requested basis. EHSC intends to modify the contract to provide the same services on a dedicated 12-hour per day, seven days per week basis. 3.0 Term The current contract term ends on March 31, 2012 and is not being modified. 4.0 Rationale EHSC has chosen not to invite proposals at this time for the following reasons: i. Due to the nature of the services it is imperative that no interruptions occur; ii. It is EHSC’s opinion, based on an understanding of the rotary wing industry, that there are currently no other vendors able to provide these services immediately; iii. EHSC is currently drafting a Request for Proposals for these services that all rotary wing vendors will have an opportunity to respond to for the provision of the services on an ongoing basis. 5.0 Contact If there are questions regarding this Notice of Intent vendors should submit a letter documenting their questions or concerns and send to the EHSC Procurement and Contract Management Branch at [email protected] no later than 2:00 p.m. Pacific Time on September 22, 2011. Telephone queries will not be responded to and information obtained from any other sources may be not relied upon. Letters received by this date will be given due consideration. EHSC’s decisions in this regard will be final.
  6. All red AS350B1 Seen leaving Langley about 6-6:30 pm, headed east. Off radar at Hope. News said they were heading for a private residence north of Kelowna, but I do not know that or who called them in as over due. There are only 4 AS350B1 listed in Canada with Transport. Only one that matches.

  8. There is a nice picture of an R44 seized in a Mission drug raid. It has the old Astro paint on it and the registration has been removed. Big news in the Province and Sun today.
  9. Be respectful of everyone. You meet the same people on your up that you meet again on your way down.
