Thanks a lot for all the info guys, I really appreciate it. Im going to talk to him this weekend and see whats up
-
Well, Im going to go out on a limb and guess that he is figuring that I would learn with his pilots teaching me, or something along those lines... not too sure though
-
Pretty unclear at this point. I'm going to go talk to him this weekend...

Any input would be greatly appreciated

Hey guys, so I've been thinking about switching careers and becoming a heli pilot for a couple years now and I had an option offered to me recently.... A relative runs a spraying company and he offered his fleet for me to learn. And so I presume that I would do ground school at a flight school and then log most of my flying time on his choppers. So I'm wondering if this would be a good idea for me to get my license this way or not. Once I get licensed I'd be flying for him anyway..... Any thoughts would be appreciated

I know its been a while since I've looked on here but I have been thinking from a different angle lately.... That being said, does anyone have an opinion or comment about Great Lakes Helicopters for training? Im thinking that this place is easily within commuting distance, and I can still work a weekend shift (full time) at my job while I train here. Any info is great Thanks

Does anyone here work for Hydro One? Or has anyone worked there in the past?

thanks for all the replies so far. So, Im assuming that a "IFR" is an instrument rating correct? So what is the VFR? -
So, to elaborate on the last post I put up, I thought I'd just ask to see where in Canada some of you guys do work? And additionally, what kind of income could I expect within 5 years of becoming a helicopter pilot? (assuming that I can find work next spring)

Thanks for the reply. Any other real input?

So I am further researching the idea of becoming a career pilot and I would like anyones input on whether there is a part of Canada that I would find more work. Or is there a province that is bad for finding work as a pilot

Thanks for all the input guys. Very Helpful!
