06HeliMAN
Got a friend who was going to buy a new R44 Raven II until he was offered a "good deal" on an used Enstrom. I believe it is an F28. Anyone familar with the pros and cons of Enstrom? And why is a new Enstrom so much more expensive than a R44?
rotrhd1
I don't think there can be a "good deal" on an Enstrom. The best deal is not to deal. Granted, it's been a while since my Enstrom days, and I may be tainted, but the R44 is the way to go. The technology in the 44 is leaps and bounds ahead of the ol' Enny and you'll have way less mechanical headaches. We used to joke it was a 1 to 5 ratio for flight hours vs hangar hours where the 44 is about 100 to 5, give or take. RH1.

Not to mention that the Robbies are now as ubiquitous as the good ol' 2x6, and you'll find AMO's who can do work on them just about anywhere...
