Hi Daz,

Great thread, I have just finished my second week at Palm Beach Helicopters, as featured in the current issue of Vertical, and have had a very similar experience. Love the dog comparison, that was me the first week too.

Managed 10 hours first week and nearly ten hours second week, 1 flight in morning, 1 ground school mid day and then 1 flight in the afternoon. Did manage a third flight on a couple of days, but to be honest I felt that three hours flying was just a bit to much information overload. Deffinatley flew better when twice a day not three.

Can't agree more that this is the hardest thing, but most enjoyable, that I have ever done. I have had to return to the UK for a couple of weeks and go back to Florida mid February for another couple of weeks. Can't wait!

One thing I will say, and I am sure that many of you have experienced this, just before I flew home I had an hour and the wind was a bit high, although well within limits, I had some bad news from home, and was generally very tense. I know now that I should not had flown, but I could not help myself. Anyway, as you will guess, I flew absolutely s**t. Really gave my confidence a knock.

It was on my mind so much that I made a special visit back to Palm Beach and had another hour before returning back to the UK. So pleased that I did, spent 10 mins re-building my confidence and then flew really well. The moral of the story is, if it dont feel right then dont bother that day, you will only regret it.

Keep up the good work all of you that are training now and keep posting your experiences, they are a great comparison for the rest off us. :D
