Rotor George
MMike, that's very interesting about the wires. I'd think disengaging the TR only when the clam shell doors are open would make sense and probably be the safest option.
Mark_
Mike, When you were talking about a rotor brake I didn't realize that you were talking about a tail rotor brake...cool, never heard about such a thing. So...the T/R can be disengaged? Wow...how does that work mechanically? Mark

Mark_
Sorry Mike, that's what I assumed until Rotor George mentioned something about disengaging the T/R. What's up with that George? Mark
Rotor George
I was just commenting on the idea of stopping the TR blades only when the clam shell doors were open, since having them spinning while loading the litter is not exactly safe even will all the training in the world. I guess I should have been on the development team eh?

Rotor George
But stopping the TR would interfere with the beer dispenser...SHEESH you guys try to keep up! That conflicts with the warnings on the TR blades.
helicopterjim
Would the blades stop if you opened the clamshell doors in flight to toss out some bundles of fire hose? Ahhh yes ..... this must be the reason for the beer dispenser!
