I always try to take off into wind...haha...thats a start limitation Sling...not a takeoff limit.I dont think many machines like to be started or hovered downwind with 60-65 kts blowing into the exhaust... Sling Your missing the point, but heres a bit of info for you straight out of a Jetbox Manual: "OPERATION VS ALLOWABLE WIND Satisfactory stability and control in rearward and sideward flight has been demonstrated for speeds up to and including 20 MPH (17 knots) at all loading conditions; however, this is not to be considered a limiting value as maximum operating wind velocities have not been established." gwk
Point machine into wind when parked outside I would never park into wind with a two bladed system, cause when you start up, you can and will, in a brisk enough wind, smack the tail boom with the blade. Always, if possible, have the wind off your right shoulder, so the blade will sail up and over tailboom as it comes around. A few years ago a pilot I was working with tried to start his 212 offshore, on a platform nose pointed into the wind, and the blade came down so low it hit the tailboom under the elavator, boy was he embarassed. Mind you, it was quite a brisk wind! Cheers
