What are most people using for bush boxes these days? I've been using a big heavy steel one, and am considering trying something different this summer (pelican case). At least I could save 25 lbs of steel.

I use a veto propac xxl-f and a large rubbermaid action packer.

I have used a Pelican 1610 for a few years. They are great but not cheap, but how many metal boxes is the airlines going to break. This model has the wheels and handle to drag it around and it does not look like a tool box. Look around for the best prices, but do not go to a camping/outdoor store for them, they jack up the price considerably. Webber Supply has good pricing, they are all across canada.

I ordered my pelican from custom case co here in canada. free shipping, and decent prices.

 

My thoughts are that baggage handlers will bash the #### out of something that 'looks' like a tool box, where as they may take care with a pelican because a camera might be inside.

 

maybe I'm wrong.

I have been using a Pelican 1610 case for a year, and it is holding up well to the airline abuse.

The only shortfall is lack of compartments and pockets.

Looks awesome but empty its 41.5lbs that's almost at your max weight for most airlines and would only leave 28.5lbs of tools before some airlines wouldn't even take it on board as baggage

someone also told me, buy the black, it looks like luggage and does not stand out. The orange and yellow stand out and say "I have something important inside"
