Working for free and flying for free are two different things. I never advocated working the ramp for free. That's what kept me outside of the industry for years. BTW I wonder what amount of respect we get staying outside of the industry.

What on earth are you on about???? Flying for free is ok but helping out around the hangar isn't.....what planet are you from??? Flying,sweeping,drywalling,shovelling s$%t, doesn't matter its all work and doing it for free is wrong! I hope this poisonous attitude from la belle province doesn't infect us in the R.O.C!

i think he means doing ferry flights, post maintenance test flights, and such, for free...i hope...! if it's revenue work then that's different!

If I'm ever in a position to hire, and I get to choose between a 200hr pilot who worked for free, and a 100hour pilot who didn't, guess who I'll take.

I don't know who you are and what you have against "La belle Province" and its "poisonous attitude" but I would suggest to you Zoltar that you get out and take some fresh air outside of your little world and you will notice that "flying for free" has been around for years in ALL the Provinces of this country, also South of the border and Europe.
