Phoenix Eng Crash Anniversary

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody,

I was just reminded that today is the two-year anniversary of the tragic ENG crash in Phoenix, Arizona. I used to fly in Phoenix and remember exactly where I was when I heard about the accident. What a sad day.

My friends at a Phoenix design firm, Kitchen Sink Studios, were involved in a very interesting computer re-enactment of the crash that you can watch here:

(If the link is no longer current, it's the July 23, 2009 entry.)

Although it's difficult to watch, I think this technology has a lot of potential as a tool for training and accident investigation, beyond the legal purposes to which this particular re-enactment was put.

RIP.

Elan
