Those CIFFC heli numbers have grown immensely today:

BC

Light

96

Intermediate

207

Medium

94

Heavy

23

That's 420 helicopters on BC fires alone! :o

So why am I sitting in NE BC with nothing to do?!?!?

Error on the CIFFC report....... Figures adjusted on today's.

I've heard that 25% of the helicopters registered in Canada are in BC right now, doesn't seem possbile?

Just did a quick search on the TC registry website for commercial helicopters registered by province:

BC - 500

AB - 356

SK - 21

MB - 47

ON - 171

PQ - 334

NB - 1

NS - 3

NFLD - 39

YK - 32

NWT -

TOTAL = 1580

That looks like 1/3 of the helicopters in Canada are registered in BC to start with.
