Heli Conference On The Great Barrier Reef

Recommended Posts

Randy - Thanks for the feedback. The problem we have is that Hamilton Island Resort, who is one of the major supporters of the event have only a couple of times when they can fit the conference in, otherwise they are completely sold out for the year.

The times are in March, May or July/August. I know these are not the best of times for northern hemisphere but we dont have many options. If you had to pick one of these dates which one would it be best to do it in.

Regards

Biggles,

No problem. It is going to be open to any helicopter industry professional. Its shaping up to be a great event and just have to finalise the dates. We are also building a website for it so will post that when it is complete.

Ned, if I had to choose, it would be either early March, or late August. If you went for Aug, the first year. Then see if the resort would allow you to use a later date in the future ??

Or you could then see if another resort (in either Cairns or the Gold/Sunshine coasts) would offer you a better date. You don't want it too close to Feb, that way you don't interfere with HAI.

One thing I just found out, Qantas has a new regional carrier named Jetstar, that will service Hamilton Island as of May 25th. They'll offer direct flights from Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.

Cheers

For those that might be interested we have finalised the dates as starting the 21st of March and running through till the 25th. Now here is another question for you.

The registration fee is going to be around $1500 Aussie dollars and that includes entry to all the seminars, approx 15 - 18 seminars per day, all breakfasts, morning Teas, lunches, afternoon teas, dinners and all alcohol at the functions every evening for the whole five days of the conference. Also includes a half day trip out to Reefworld to experience snorkelling and diving on the Great Barrier Reef.

Now I would like to know if you consider that expensive and if that would prohibit you from attending. We are also working with the airlines to get some great discounts on airline fares from all corners of the world.

Look forward to your feedback.
