Used to have lots of favorite spots to park around Edmonton to stop for breakfast or lunch. Would park up to 4 machines out back. Always seem to fill up the place after we arrived.

Isn't there still a well used pad in Dryden at the hotel. Its not that uncommon at all. I remember landing at a hotel in Alberta, with prior permission of coarse, and getting asked for a plate number at check-in.

I've got my favorite stops, and yes it has drawn a crowd at times. I always make sure I have permission before I do so though. It's way cool!

Yes, the Best Western still has a pad.

 

So this heli is probably what flew over my house last night... It was too dark out to make a positive ID, it was just obviously (or audibly) not one of the locals and not fixed wing .

I remember landing at the Pink Mountain convienience store in the parking lot so the boys could reload the beer stash. During playoffs and the Oilers were doing well...desperate times called for desperate measures! I could only imagine what the passing traffic thought about 3 guys running frantically with 6 flats of beer toward the running helicopter....
