If things goes according to the rumor I have heard this summer the S92 is not in danger.

Looks like the army/navy/airforce, one of them anyway will get HH3's out of the mothballs to get re-engine also get the new main/tailrotor baldes.

They have from 60 to 70 airframes (if not more) somewhere and they will bring them back to life with that new technology.

That's coming from a US AME I worked with this summer

That is certainly good news if the work ends up with Vector as I don't know if anyone else is spooled up to do all those mods.

No that is all Carson's stuff. He's got the blades main and tail now and like you said he is looking for engines that will fit the aircraft. He will be busy for a while.

Cheaper way for the military to get a new "aircraft" they already have those excellent airframes, strong and built to last add the new stuffs and glass cockpit et voila. a new machine.

Not entirely sure that Carson would do the work themselves or farm it out. He owns some of the STCs but that is a lot of a/c.

Time will tell. All they have to do is convince the Generals that older is just as good as newer if it has been properly maintained and modernized. no matter who does them it means lots of jobs in the maintennace world.
