Coffeelover
It's Canadian Helicopters Limited (CHL) which is sending the aircraft from Edmonton to Afghanistan not CHC. CHC Helicopter Corporation (CHC) is not currently involved in Afghanistan. Not currently involved? Do tell, it has been a long time since CHI/current name has been involved in non-oil operations. Sarajevo was the last UN base if memory serves me correctly. I must say though, it was way more fun with CHI in that neck of the woods than with the military. Translation
Nope. He's right, and it was successfully kept very quiet so as not to worry potential employees. http://english.people.com.cn/90001/90777/90851/6889355.html Maybe they should fly at night with NVG's

If they ever start using stingers or the like you can bet the civilian helicopter presence will decline over night.

SkyPilot
Just curious, Whats the pay and rotation for this. I'm not interested but just wondering what it takes for someone to go and work where there using real bullets and may like to cut your head off. So what is the pay (roughly)? Day rate? saturnman
So what is the pay (roughly)? Day rate? PICs about $1000 per day; FO's About $700 per day. There are some of caveats but that's roughly it. There is also an incentive if you complete a calendar year of work. Only paid while overseas. s/m
