Fuel Caps?

So I was looking at an AS350 fuel cap the other day.....pretty rudimentary. For an aircraft that costs several million bucks, you'd think you'd have I dunno....a hinge or a quick pop open latch or something? At least a lanyard? why are they so low-end?

The other question is why didn't they put it on the other side of the machine, so its the same side as the pilot. It would make it so much easier to keep an eye on your low time re-fuelers to make sure that they put the cap back on.

or made it so you can visually check the level as you refuel? like every bell & MD product.... don;t know how many times I spilled trying to hotfuel a Astar/Twinstar in a hurry. pain in the ***.
