Bears Vs. Helicopters

Hey... I heard a story the other day of a black bear approaching a running machine. The story was third hand removed but it got me thinking that there must be some good bear stories out there.

Hahahah my boss was just telling us old stories about the dangers of trains today!

ya, if you look on google or somewhere, there are pics of a jetbox with half the front of the helicopter 'removed' by a polar bear up near the James Bay area. It was an OMNR machine and the poor buggers had to repair it where it was... the whole frontend was gone, both front windows and half the instrument panel... quite the pics to be sure.

they love to chew on rubber. Outfitters always come back to their camps in the summer to find the tires and seats of their quads torn to shreds by bears.

6yrs guiding bear hunters, have heaps of bear stories, but no good ones involving helicopters....

 

did hit a bear in the head with a rock to scare it off when it had a certain wrench hugging the mast of a 214... ah, good times in Sloquet
