Mike Reyno
I hope that those of you that have in one form or another been involved with a Canadian search and rescue mission this year will submit your entry for the coveted Cormorant Trophy, which is sanctioned by the Air Force. The press release was posted this morning on our Daily News. http://www.verticalmag.com/control/news/templates/?a=14488 Both military and commercial operators are eligible to receive the trophy. I know that there were several Canadian commercial operators, from the east coast to the west coast, that were involved in various complex SAR missions in the past year. Eligible entries are for SAR missions performed between July 1, 2009 and June 30 this year. Entries must be received by September 10. The award will be presented at SAREX in Whitehorse in late September. This is your opportunity to raise the profile of (very capable) civil SAR operations in Canada!
