splitpin
Pics I took in a previous life............. It's plain to me that these are pictures of the massive secret CIA operation at Melfort International Airport. How did you get them??? Not many people are aware of the operation as the whole complex is underground on the south side of the airport. Looks like the cat is out of the bag!! Thanks MMike, for putting our nations security at risk!! May the fleas from a thousand camels nest in your armpits.
Petit-Lion
What was the air speed like?
SkyPilot
Hope the new breed of Engineer will be as dedicated as this one is. JD Thats awesome! Thanks for sharing. I am amazed at the lateral stability of those machines.
Guest Bullet Remington
Another example of the engineer putting hus butt on the line to keep the machine working through the contract and to keep the pilot flat ; fat and happy. The good thinh is though, free flight benefits and 5 bucks a day!!! Pretty well the same as what an engineer gets today!!! The 747 photos, I'm thinkin were taken at Everett, Washington. Guest jacdor
What was the air speed like? If you mean how fast the aircraft was moving, I believe those things were flying at about 70 to 80 mph. I remember reading something about the difference in between VNE and minimum speed and it was something like 20/25 mph. Not much play. No airspeed on the clothes (hard to see anyway), neither on the spare wheel, no aileron work as she moves laterally on the wing, and I'm not sure about such an extreme lateral imbalance, even with only 100 lbs weight including spare wheel. May be possible at a very high airspeed, but then... IMO it looks like a nice staging. Oh, and nothing to do with the real commitment of aircraft maintenance engineers, of course
Iceman
Looks staged to me too. But God bless our Engineers.
