Bell 204 Or 205 Inducted Into The Smithsonian ?

Recommended Posts

An engineer buddy of mine told me that the Bell 204 was inducted into the Smithsonian Museum recently. He says he now works on museum pieces.

Apart from that line being quite funny I'm not able to confirm or deny if it was the Bell 204 or Bell 205 that was really inducted. A video clip on the Smithsonian site sure looks like a Bell 205 to me.

Does anybody know which?

UH-1H. (205 series)

Considering the place the UH-1 series has in US military history, it's hardly surprising that they would have on there. There are UH-1's in various other Museums elsewhere.

List of Smithsonian exhibits.

The Olympic FLight Museum in Olympia Washington, has an excellent collection of aircraft including a flying UH-1H. UH-1K and AH-1G. These machines fly the US Northwest Airshow circuit in the summer months, and fly pretty regularly in the local area. President and founder of the museum, is Brian Reynolds, owner of Northwest Helicopters.
