VTA
Hovering with the gear UP in an experimental helicopter !!! Numb-Nut..... Also, it's one thing to be the fastest in a "experimental" what really counts is doing it in a production helicopter.... The Lynx still has it guys !!!! SuddenStop
have to start somewhere to make progress....I call king numb nut for anyone who's satisifed with todays aircraft (including the past production models)and not afraid to step out of the box to experiment with new concepts. Kudo's to Sikorsky for this idea, and Kudo's to Eurocopter for their recent entry as well. Now when will the puported 609 that Bell bought their way into make it to the commercial market??? I worry it's going to end up pricing itself out of range and become a nice museum piece.
Rotorhead
Boeing is working on an interesting concept as well... I was in West Palm Beach the day they broke the record with the X2, pretty cool new technology.

I am kinda thinking that if things go south .. the position of the gear is not gonna save much!!!
MMike
Not to mention....that video is far from being the aircraft's first flight. I think they are pretty confident with the whole hovering/gear up thing.....
