widgeon
Seeing the announcement of the contract signing by DND got me thinking bout the civil variant. Cougar had an order and there was another Canadian operator ( wazzit Helijet ?). When will we see them in Canada ?
Rotorhead
Petro Canada ordered one for St. John's, it will be operated by Cougar/VIH. CHC has a number of options but only work for them in the North Sea so far as I know. RH

Skidz
FYI there's an S-92 parked on the ramp at Pratt & Whitney in St-Hubert since last week. They're running tests on the turbines. I'll try and get a spy pic if the weather clears and I can fly tomorrow...
Mike Reyno
Call me dumb, but are they not GEs on the S-92, not Pratts?? Cougar will not get their S-92 until the middle of Jan now. They were originally supposed to get it back in October, but there continues to be long delays at Sikorsky. Next in line are Norsk and Pfizer, and another one for PHI. I hear that they are also having issues with the S-92's FADEC.
Skidz
D-OH ! That's what you get when you listen to a DOM... ;-) One of our apprentices knows a guy who... anyways, turns out the S-92 is here for the whole winter for testing in known icing conditions. It's hangared next door to Pratt and shares their ramp. That's the story...'til someone else comes up with a better rumour... Don't know why they came here, so far winter in Montreal is looking to be a non-event. It's +12C this morning... Maybe they don't want to go to CYAW, lest they get too close to the V-22 ;-)
