RTR
was that due to a pilot removing and reinstalling said fuel line? Are you being deliberately idiotic today? It's unlike you. If there is anything I have learned in over 30 years of aviation it is this; If it is possible, it has either already happened, or will happen at some time in the future. In this day and age there are so many ways to get in contact with your maintenance department. Just about every operator out there has Sat phones etc. And yes, it is the AME who last signed that out that will ride to court with it. He holds the legal liability for any work he or she does...unless you are about to get eaten by a polar bear, pick up the sat phone or camp phone etc etc etc. As mentioned earlier, if it falls within elementary maintenance that you have been trained to do, enter your work in the journey log and SIGN IT. I'm 100% with Suddenstop on this one. RTR
R22Captain
It was sarcasm....I hope you that got out of it atleast The one liners were just flowing out of me on this one. See your post makes logical sense, where one would problem solve in an appropriate manner. I agree with you 100%. My point is that the 212 line had zero to do with anything even remotely related to this topic. Alright....I derailed this thread pretty good RTR has some good points on the appropriate "flow chart" so to speak, for problem solving in the bush. Back on topic.... hybrid
Why is it that everytime Sudden Stop gets his 2 bits in on a thread it turns into a p---ing match. All Winnie was asking was what are some good tools to bring along in the field, he wasn't planning to change an FCU or a turbine........ Time to put things back into perpective and get back on track. BTW Winnie a 5/16 Snap On 1/4 inch drive swivel so is a must for a C 20 turbine change.......

I notice the trend that you are a huge catalyst along with several of your bully friends who continually attack me for my views. Get over it and be a bigger man and ignore my posts. Don't like what I say, don't lose sleep over it. All i seem to do is voice my opinion, which i am entitled, then spend the next 5 pages defending myself until you cry like a baby wanting me gone. Is there a finger smilie available ?? look in the mirror strongly my friend. look in the mirror and see who the real problem is..
R22Captain
I'm over it...carry on fine people I know we talked about in another thread earlier this year, but along with the right size tools to tear down your GPI pump, have something (piece of zip-tie for me) to use in the event your key goes south. I know it's not a tool, but I always had a chuck with my other goodies. As RH pointed out, make sure it gets replaces with an actual key when you;re back in civilization. Winnie
Noted on the Zip ties, I always sneak one here and there. 5/16 for the hot section is also noted, have one already... Have brulin in the spares to clean the igniter, after I touch it.. lol (nevermind) But back to reality, there are certain things we can do, and often the engineer or MM or whomever, might even ASK if you can take apart a piece and see the said chip or etc. if they are 700 miles away, they can advise you on it (chip plugs anyways). but as was said, no maintenance, just basci crap. Cheers! Harald
flingwinger
Screwdrivers, wire strippers and electrical tape for repairing longline wiring. Awl and some thick thread (the waxed stuff used for tying wire bundles works well) and patch kit for Bambi buckets. 1/4" drive socket set, Knipex, Knife, zap straps, speed tape. Harald LOL! Throw a set of needle nose pliers in the bag as well. As long and thin as you can find. They are great for getting that igniter out of the brulin jar too!
