Saifan Pilot
I have the 296 and I'm not upgrading, main reson is battery life, the 296 can last 15 hours on one charge (if you dim the screen) and you can also carry a spare battery, whereas the Aera only lasts 5 hours. True you can connect both to the aircraft power supply but as a heli pilot I sometimes fly aircrafts that don't have a power hookup or their power connector is non standard. Saifan Pilot
Seriously...????? Did I do or say something to get in your bad book? Seems any comment I make seems to rub you the wrong way.
Bif
I was freaking out because my 296 started eating through batteries... didn't notice still I started flying machines without a plug-in. It will only charge partially overnight, say "Charging Complete" but the battery bar is only half full or less, and the life remaining only a few hours. Kept me pretty nervous until I decided to fully drain the batteries one night, the timer reached zero and the gps stayed on for several hours after... so clearly it's just confused. Still don't like this behaviour though...
SuddenStop
Press and hold the "Quit" button, the "Out" button and then the "Power" button. Hold all three down for 15 seconds. This is like re-booting your computer. Might help, but remember this is a hard reboot so back up all your waypoints.
