WTF_was_that
Not positive this was caused by a ni-cad battery. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onJVQL8iL2g&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Freefall
holy crap good thing he didnt waste any time getting it to the ground! glad they appear to have made it alright. Maybe they can pick through the rubble and re use the turbine wheels!
SuddenStop
kinda sucks, you go to the Japan Transportation Safety Board website and the last update is june 24/10.....oh well, maybe the japenese site is up to date and they're lax with the english translation. Seems the most likely culprit will be a battery issue judging from the initial smoke location. and spread aft into the Master Electrical box by the looks of it I bet he was rethinking the hover landing once that cabin filled with smoke in the end. Probably pucker factor of 10.

SuddenStop
i wish there was some accountability as far as the neg reps go so that the three wankers so far could justify them. Until then I reiterate the rep system is flawed and bogus. You can't tell me that any one of you wouldn't have had seconds thoughts once your cabin filled with smoke
Lunchbox
Ironic. For once, a real life incident matches what we see in the movies when a helicopter is in trouble and we see smoke billowing out of the tailboom or belly cowls! I wonder if these guys had their "Master Warning" caution light go off also...
