Twinstar ---don't "go there" either. I remember a pilot and engineer coming back home after a summer on the barren lands flying a G3B2. They land just south of Barrhead, AB because the controls are "sloppy". The engineer finds the control cable to the horizontal stab is almost ready to break away from the pin. He cuts the cable and then cuts a section out of the nearby cattle rancher's barbed-wire fence. He then fanshions a connection between the end of the cable and the horizontal stab. The pilot checks all and goes for a short, low test flight.....all appears well and they continue to Edmonton Muni where their HQ were. Engineer quickly gets out and removes the "In the field"(pardon the pun) modification and "grounds a/c" for unsatisfactory cable. Enigineer goes on to become very well-respected and well-known DOM years later and threatens pilot with castration and death if he ever mentions that story with names involved.........and pilot never has.:lol:

Fovourite "old" Lights back then: Super G; J Model Bell; 3B1 or 3B2; SL4....and if the 206 driver thought he was going to out-lift the last 3 then he could kiss your butt.
