Guest 47yrLowTimer
Can a Canadian with Canadian license fly a US registered machine legally in Canada for hire? I've searched the CAR's and but can't find a definitive answer.

Guest 47yrLowTimer
That's what I thought. Just found out my paper FAA cert of 22 years is no longer valid as of March 2010. Never needed it in 22 years & now Murphy strikes again. Time to plead with the FAA Gods
Over-Talk
YES. No FAA license required. The crew must be employed by the Canadian Operator, i.e. a Canadian citizen (or on a visa) and holding a Canadian license. The Canadian Operator must meet a bunch of other requirements here..... http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/civilaviation/regserv/cars/part2-subpart3-1004.htm and more instructions how to do it here..... http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/civilaviation/publications/tp13090-chapter5-state-2106.htm#5.1 I saw an N registered ship fly over yesterday, piloted by a Canadian friend of mine..... all quite legal. Helilog56
An important part of the equation is what the insurance underwriter requirements are. For us you must have a FAA license and type endorsed, with medical naturally.
Guest 47yrLowTimer
Thanks for all the help guys. Pretty sure it's US operator contracted to log in Canada. We'll see how the cards fall tomorrow. I don't hold much hope that I can get a new & improved FAA cert. in 5 days.

Guest 47yrLowTimer
Well as I feared. Basically back to square one with the FAA. Need new cert., Written Exam and Flight test. Not enought time or $ to make it worth while. Back in the hunt.
