Guest graunch1
As a response to the Peelots and their sweaty palms about the favorite aircraft that they have flown. I propose the initiate a list of the worst a/c any of you have ever worked on. My first choice is the MU2 - because to work on one is to hate one FWIW the best a/c have ever flown in was a CF104D. 450kts, 50ft, or, lower than a snakes belly at the speed of heat
Guest Airplay
I''d have to say most little airplanes...but especially the Mooney series.
twotter
I''d have to say the Jetstream 31. Most procedures in the MM start with " First, remove first officers seat". And if you''ve ever done that you''ll know why.. Typical British nightmare...
avt007
Anything smaller than, say, a Twin Otter. Obviously because the space isn''t there, but also because nothing is built with the engineer in mind. Particular a/c ; Hawkers, Westwind, Islanders, th list goes on. ST27
Have to agree with the MU2 a being one of the worst. Anyone there remember when B.C. Hydro and B.C. Tel had MU2s It was the registrations were TEL and HYD I think, do know the HYD went onto a Hydro C550 later on.
Skywrench
Man am I glad I am not the only one that hates the Jetstream 31. Personally, any British airplane I have encountered, I have hated.
Guest Airplay
As as I sat back an thought about it, I realized that some airplanes that are a pain to service, often have more utility or capabilities than those that are easier. However, I kept thinking about operators. I conclude that it doesn''t really matter what model you''re working on, its the operator that makes the biggest difference. I won''t go into specifics (or names) here, but I''m sure that many here have been in the position where we say something like "I wouldn''t touch the King Airs that ABC company flies". There are a few operators out there that turn nice airplanes into junk in the few years that they operate them. Once you take the airplane over, you quickly realize how neglected the thing is. Corrosiion everywhere, inspections that obviously haven''t been done, (except for on paper) undocumented mods, outstanding ADs etc etc.... These are truly the airplanes that are a horror to maintain. C-FCRA
The BN2 was a great plane to work on. This coming from a pilot with a wrench standing in the gravel somewhere up north freezing my...... A pilot with a wrench is a dangerous thing.
