How do you know that it's good advice? This is going from bad to worse.

If you don't want a new grad, why not just ask?

Do not, under any circumstances, go to Dr. Fabriel.

You have been warned.

Would you call this slander? inapropriate conduct to this forum? Do you think his kids would like to here this? Would your kids like it if someone else anonimously said the same about your abilities? Maybe think before dissing anybody on this forum.

Isn't that the point of a forum? He didn't say anything defamatory, he advised him not to go there for reasons unknown.

I should point out that the poster didn't put anything in his statement that he claims as fact.

Getting the "right" Doctor should be a huge concern to anyone whose livelihood hinges on passing the medical. When a friend of mine first got his fixed wing licence he was misdiagnosed with Wolfe Parkinson White Syndrome, yeah, how do you like that? You wouldn't believe all the specialists he had to go to and after a FEW YEARS and lots of $ a different Doctor doing his medical took a look at his EKG and said "What are you talking about, WPW?" So off he went for more tests (and more $) and it was determined that he did indeed not have it. The guy at Transport handling his case tried to argue, quoting the TC policy but the new Dr., an older fellow retorted "i wrote that policy and i say he doesn't have it and is fine to fly". Never in all the years since has it come up again for him.

So many times i have heard stories about Dr.'s making a mountain out of a mole hill, in a lot of cases they err on the side of caution which is good but there is caution and then there is the extreme. We do the medical so that we don't potentially die at the controls and kill ourselves, or worse a load of passengers or someone on the ground. At the same time it is incumbent on the Dr. doing these medicals to realize that frivolous diagnosis can lead to a lot of headache for us as well not to mention a loss of income, there has to be a balance.

A big part of passing the medical for me is doing some sort of regular exercise, jogging, well loping anyway and a bit of a workout especially for the core and back. It amazes me how many fat out of shape drivers there are and how many of you complain about a sore back. I am constantly surprised by the fact that these people can pass a medical. Most of them couldn't run two blocks without collapsing and their hearts exploding but there they are flying around, go figure.... I guess the old saying "eating my way into a medium" is around for a reason. LOL

So i see where he was coming from asking about a "good" Dr.. Not so sure about naming a Dr. that someone would not go to on here though maybe just give the name of a "good" Dr.. You would be surprised what a "good" lawyer can do with a few words and a legal precedent or two.
