Things have been pretty slow on this site lately so here is the question.

Why do French machine blades rotate the opposite direction from North American Machines? Who decided one way was better than the other?

Why do French machine blades rotate the opposite direction from North American Machines? Who decided one way was better than the other?

 

The French did have one turn the same direction

 

The Super Frelon.....

I was told many years ago, that after lots of studies, it was determined that it was more natural to push right pedal forward when lifting the collective with the left hand than to push left pedal forward.

 

Mind you, the guy telling me this might have been playing with a gullible apprentice...

Jumping between both, I do find the french machines more natural.
