KyleSpitt
Our question, which I am sure is common to just about every operator in the helicopter world. What is a good door seal to use with Bell Longranger Doors? Bell suggest their seal which doesn't seem to be the best. Especially since the proper method is to build the door sill of the airframe up with fiberglass (with the silicon door seal attached to the door). This method is done to "fill in the gap for that particular door to the airframe. But Why? Why do all that work. Why not use a seal that compresses enough to "Fill in the gap"? Any suggestions would be very............VERY helpfull.
carhartt
You could check the shimming at the hinges. Never had a problem with the silicone seal the ipc calls for.
