Chuck-------that .12 ga flare gun....is that one like the Navy use to have that dropped a parachute flare that went way up and hung for ages? I had one like that stolen eons ago that was a .12 Ga flare gun made by Winchester. Are you familar with the ones I'm speaking about or is the one you got the exact same thing? Those little pencil flare guns don't compare at all to what I'm talking about..

Cap.

No mine is a marine flare gun it is made of hard composites with a three inch barrel and fires 12 guage red flares....

... I pack it in my check in baggage when travelling and never had it found yet.

Now that they have sniffers for explosives it is getting more difficult to carry the flare shells , for sure I would not put them in carry on baggage...

...now if I were to go back to Africa I guess I would declare the shells in my checked baggage and hope they would allow them as survival equipment, in the worst case they could only confiscate them as I have declared what they are.

If that does not work, the easiest thing to buy is a weapon anyhow, even here in the Peoples Socialist Republic of Canada.

Ok guys, I moved the off-topic posts to a new topic in Just Conversation. I can't copy the Rev's last post over there so those who aren't in the know might find the start of the debate a little difficult to grasp, but hey ! That's the best I kin doo ! :)
