Unknown Gazelles

We had a couple when I was at Great Lakes Helicopters in the early 70's, I spent most of my time maintaining "DUG" and Hartley Brown looked after the other one we had.

I wouldn't think anyone uses hf anymore when you can use a satphone.I used an early model satphone to call WPG from but*%$# no where on baffin island back in1996.Clear as a bell,no talking in a long tunnel with chipmonk voices!!!HAH.

I'm pretty sure you're right. I can remember being in the arctic with a bunch of "boulder beaters" in the late 70's and they used their "briefcase phone" to send in results daily.
