nuthin 35
TNTA had the Alouette 3 which Doug flew for a few years. TNTA wanted a Lama but AS could not source them one and sold them on an Alouette 3 they had. Useful machine for sure but also much heavier than a Lama.
CJM91 24
Right. I had a funny feeling that Lama wasn't quite correct.
Zishelix 6
Turbowest had one in Ft Simpson, was brown and beige I think. But somehow with a fuel cap missing the fuel sucked out of tank and caught fire and burned. Skullcap, any chance to recall ID of that machine... or at least date when it was happen? Zishelix 6
OK, at least I find out reason of the accident. Thanks for help!
skullcap 180
Yes, apparently if you tape over the hole when the gas cap goes missing then poke holes in the tape, fuel comes out. Went down then back through the oil cooler and into exhaust. Pilot said when he was coming into land to pick up load of firefighters they all ran away. Flames shooting out exhaust pipe. Burn to nothing on landing. No one hurt..
Zishelix 6
One more info just added into Gazelle service history Much appreciated!
Zishelix 6
As far as I know know, one of the first Gazelles in Canada was CF-BBO delivered in 1973. I still don't know who operate it nor what happened with that machine since then. I can only hope some photo of that SA.341G survived 'til today...
