I remember a base truck once that after a gizillion miles and floor boards replaced was abandoned east of Calgary. Our NEW truck which was richly anticipated finally arrived with the shocks having worn big holes in the frame with well over 200,000km.

Always found it interesting that the old worn out beaters were gingerly babied along in hopes the blessed thing wouldn't leave you stranded. BUT anything new and shiny had the sh%t driven out of it, hmmmm.

407D,

Aerotech does wonderful work..... I remember flying some beat up, bent up, twisted CHW 206's there. Then Don W got in a hissy and they pulled them all out! What a another ClusterFu*K!.....Ya, can we get our machines back???......We don't like you any more! ........I think that was about the time you pulled the pin there! Ring any bells?

There, got my morning laugh already...Them where the days...I even used my 'Cdn Tire' shirt to wipe up some grease or oil....what a joke!

No comments on that issue T-Rex. ;)

I wonder what ever happened to that great old blue Ford PU in Resolute....the OKanagan base truck. Last time I saw it, 1978, it was on it's last legs, not much worked (wipers, door handles, windows, etc), but it still ran...... we had plenty of memorable trips home from the bar at 0200 in the Arctic sunshine with it :wacko:
