Occurrence Summary Date: 2014-09-22 Further Action Required: Yes O.P.I.: General Aviation Narrative: While inbound to land on apron 5, Tower witnessed a privately registered Rotorway Exec 162F on a local flight from Pitt Meadows, BC (CYPK) descend and land very hard in a field. Emergency services were called. No injuries. Very little damage to the helicopter.
Date: 2014-09-25 Further Action Required: No O.P.I.: General Aviation Narrative: UPDATE: TSB Report#A14P0153: While approaching to land on apron 5 at Pitt Meadows Airport (CYPK), the privately registered amateur-built Rotorway Exec helicopter engine (RW162F) experienced a power loss. The helicopter landed hard in a field adjacent to the airport. The airport control tower dispatched emergency services. The pilot was uninjured.
Date: 2014-10-07 Further Action Required: No O.P.I.: Narrative: Update Aviation Enforcement: This incident has been reviewed by Civil Aviation Enforcement and the appropriate action has been taken.

I flew right over this guy as he was sitting out in the middle of the blueberry fields at the end of runway 18. I said to my passengers how it was a weird spot for him to land because his tail was less than a foot from big bushes that would have destroyed it had it touched them. There was no firetrucks there yet, so I guess it was right after it happened.

Jerry F? I don't think so. He flies a Red R44 not a Rotorway. Whoever the guy was posted a picture on his instagram of it out in the blueberries after I flew over and tagged me in it. I've tried to find the picture of if but can't remember the guys IG name.
