In light of the rising frequency of human/grizzly bear conflicts, the Ministry of Fish and Wildlife is advising hikers,hunters,fisherman and helicopter pilots to take extra precautions and stay alert for bears while in the field.We advise that outdoorsman wear noisy little bells on thier clothing so to warn the bears they are in the area and not to startle them.We also advise outdoorsmen to carry pepper spray with them in case of an encounter.It is aiso a good idea to watch out for fresh bear sign.Outdoorsmen should be able to recognize the difference between black bear waste and that of a grizzly bear.Black bear excreament is smaller and contains evidence of berries and squrril fur in it.Grizzly bear waste is larger,has little bells in it and smells alot like pepper.
