Zebo
Hi People, I'm new here and would like to get a real insight into helicopter training. I am due to start my commercial course in a couple of weeks at BC Helicopters in Abbotsford using the Schweizer 300CB. A couple of questions, firstly how does the school fair and how hard is the helicopter commercial course generally? Thanks! :
twinstar_ca
wishing you the best, zebo, but those are questions you should have asked before you committed to training... 412D is an instructor at the school as well as being a respected contributor here... listen to what he and his associates teach you, work hard, and you'll get exactly as much out as you put in... Ryan
If you really want to do it, you will. Get ready to have your brain overloaded during every waking moment, it's both Heaven and **** all rolled into one divine experience. And yes, it is a very hard course. While I did my training I kept a weekly journal here on this site. You might want to read thru it to see a general view of what goes on during the training period. My two biggest pointers for students are: -Get at least 8 hours of sleep every night -Have your nose in the books at least 5 hours a day minimum. I bumped my training log to the top of the Training page to save you lookin for it. Have fun up there!

Guest jesse
There's more than the training to be concerned about, check out the job prospects before you spend your 40g's.
Puddle Jumper
Getting the license is the easy part. But finding that job is the tough one.
cheap tuesdays
Good luck Zebo, did my training there in '97 when they still had the 22's. lots of work and very little social life but the payoffs in the end are well worth it. go in with open ears, listen to what they say, and if you have questions ask. cheers ct
