Anyone hear anything about an R22 crash on Vancouver Island? :(

Helicopter crash probed

Transportation officials are probing the cause of a crash of a helicopter north of Courtenay on Vancouver Island that sent the pilot to hospital.

The small two-seater went down near Merville around four Friday afternoon.

The pilot of the privately-owned chopper was the lone occupant aboard.

While officials haven't released the extent of the pilot's injuries, they were serious enough to transport him to Vancouver General.

The pilot's identity hasn't been released.

Let's hope things are OK, and that this "above", isn't related to this "below",

from Ryan in Vancouver on a CTF!

"Last week I finished helping put back together the same R-22 I did my training on after a partial overhaul. The ship got new blades, transmission and clutch with a rebuilt engine an mast assembly.

I took photos of the heli in various states of completion and posted them in the members gallery if any student pilots want to see what a naked R-22 looks like.

I'm still added photos so check back in a bit and they should all be there."
