COVID-19 Vaccinations

Recommended Posts

Didnt the FAA initially say (last summer) that pilots would lose medicals if they took these vaccines? Then a few months later that decision was changed. I never researched what actually made them change their minds but the initial ruling was based on the side effects.

I dont really see any mitigation in the side effects as far as what the news and health authorities are saying.

I believe that only pertained to COVID-19 vaccine medical trials.

Currently you are required to wait 48 hours as per the FAA.

Transport Canada appear not to have any mandatory wait periods.

That is correct, it was "medical trials" that they didn't allow and wasn't just about vaccines, it included any trials.

In Canada, they still rely on YOU, the PIC to make the appropriate decision on whether you are fit for duty.  If you have anaphylaxis allergies or have any problems with the vaccine components then you'll be required to wait 30 minutes after injection.  Anyone else, it's been 15 minutes.

Most people i know that are now vaccinated had to take a day off after the 2nd dose as the fatigue and nausea really sets in.  Day one of symptoms were mostly mild.
