GrayHorizons
I'll just leave this here. https://www.publicrelationscanada.com/post/helicopter-crashes-on-departure-at-langley-regional-airport-exclusive https://vancouversun.com/news/staff-blogs/real-scoop-star-canuck-unwittingly-takes-ride-with-convicted-smuggler should get Telefilm Canada to make a movie on this. It has all the drama for a prime time show on CBC
Bif
Maybe I'm way wrong but this looks like some kind of accidental takeoff without even being at full rpm yet. The way it tips forward and hops off the pad, coupled with the right use which would jive from low t/r authority at low rpm? And maybe the video is slow, but those blades dont look like they're spinning at full power..?
Bee3
Hopefully all ok.

2007
Sure looks like the M/R blades are spinning in the wrong direction......is it possible to install them wrong?
R0T0R
No, that’s a product of the frame rate on the camera. It’s literally impossible to get the blades on backwards not to mention get them to turn in the wrong direction.
Nacreous
Well it was good to see the two people walking away on their own after they got out.. It will be interesting to see what happened. I agree that it does look like an accidental take off as It kind of looks like what you might expect to see after pulling up on the collective at fight idle if the gross weight wasn't too heavy. I have never read any reports about that so I'm not sure what would happen if that occurred for some reason..
DGP
Wouldn't be the first time that a camera strap caused an accident!
N1
Maybe the cyclic or collective came of in his hand?

Oddly enough it does when you go frame by frame. Not sure how its even possible. Backward blades aside lol, my guess is its a camera strap or something caught under the collective. Had an 8 year old kid almost jerk the collective up on me during flight idle not long ago.
