Buckets Vs Belly Tanks

If he would have dropped it a few seconds befor he probably would have smacked it right down on my house!

 

The school he landed at is about a block from where I live.

 

My guess is he was returning from kelowna and for some reason joined the pattern as opposed to a straight in and dropped the bucket. due to the mountains to the west penticton is a righthand for 34 left for 16 area.

 

Was he departing or arriving? if he was departing I couldnt tell you why the **** he would be over there but arriving mabey. for those unfirmilliar the forestry base and everthing else for that matter is on the west side of the runway.

Whenever I had to depart or arrive at Penticton with a longline attached it was always out to, or in from the west. Even if I was arriving from the east I would take the long way around and approach the base from the west side. No excuse for flying over houses in Penticton. Glad to hear no one was hurt.
