justfly
I saw the Enstrom, met & talked with the pilot and passenger last week at Nanaimo. Very sad! Seemed like a very likable guy enjoying his pride & joy. My sincere condolences to family, friends, and loved ones!

Schooner69
An unfortunate accident and a difficult time for the families involved. They will want to know answers: hopefully AIB can provide some for them. My thoughts: I don't see a tail rotor. The main rotors are intact, attached to the mast, and show no rotational damage. There doesn't seem to be much fuselage movement after touchdown. Possible loss of tail rotor in flight?
Ryan
That's what folks are thinking. The tail rotor was not found at the crash site, dunno if it's been found yet either. Guess the popping and banging that witnesses heard was likely the TR drive shaft failing and/or the tail rotor breaking free.
