maxtorc
Hey RDM, saw the email from B.M. Did you guys weather the storm in Galliano? How did ERA make out at Lake Charles?
RDM
MT, Our aircraft was hangared about a 100 miles to the east. The highest winds that crew saw topped about 40 KTS. Got pretty ugly here early Saturday morning for a few hours, winds around 75 to 80 and very heavy rain. The storm clobbered Lake Charles about 50 miles to the west of us. Place looks something like New Orleans. The "curfew" thing was interesting, have not had one of them for a while. Lafayette looked like a ghost town here late Friday night, a little surreal. hotel parking lot Saturday afternoon.... Darn, they even had Walmart closed...needed a canoe to get across the lot. Snap of a squall passing thru...vis down to 1/8 in ++RA....
